School Days two new dolls - Ruby Dee and Essie
These wonderful figurines remind me of my good friend, Essie Dee Washington, one of the original founders of the Total Woman Club. A member called me on Monday, September 17, 2007 to tell me that Essie Dee was in a nursing home with only two weeks to live (we had lost touch with her for years especially after Hurricane Katrina). The next evening we visited her and prayed for her and her family. She never spoke but smiled gently. Imagine my surprise when I found Essie and Ruby Dee online the following day - September 19. I immediately ordered the two. Our club, The Total Woman, was formed thirty-one years ago at the end of August in 1976. Essie’s item number is 1676. My friend, Essie Dee, died on September 29, 2007. What a blessing to have two dolls to remind me of her. Thank you so much!!!!!!
I literally just discovered your art while viewing “How It’s Made” on the Science Channel. When they mentioned that your company created art depicting African-American’s contribution to the history of the United States, I immediately searched for a website and in the space of 10 minutes, I’ve fallen in love with your work. Thank you so much for remembering, educating and enriching.
Today I will begin what I hope will be a large collection of your art.
I would love miss martha originals to list a secondary market for your figurines on your website. I think that would add even more fun to the collector. Thanks.
I received a Xmas present this year one that I will cherish for a lifetime. Valerie is her name such a beautiful figurine it brought tears to my eyes I will protect her and love this beautiful gift forever. My name is Valerie and she reminds me of myself when I was young I will pass her down to my Grandaughter when the time comes her name is Valerie too.
